England went on to register a thrilling 22-run on the final day of the third Test match against India at Lords Cricket Ground. With this win, the hosts took a lead of 2-1 in a five-match series. It turned out to be a thrilling five-day contest where both the teams ended up getting a same total in the first innings. After that, when England gave India a target of 193 to win, their bowlers gave a tough fight to the visitors who had to struggle to score runs. While chasing a target of 193 runs, India lost seven wickets under 100 runs with their key batters going back to the pavilion. After bowling England out for 192 runs in the second innings on day four, India also couldn’t get a good start as they lost four wickets by the end of the day.

India started the day with the score of 58/4 with KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant at the crease. However, it didn’t take much time for Jofra Archer to remove Pant early on the start of the day. After a few overs, skipper Ben Stokes took a big wicket of KL Rahul followed by Archer’s stunning returning catch to end Washington Sundar’s innings as India were reduced to 82/7. As India were looking to get a big partnership between Ravindra Jadeja and Nitish Kumar Reddy, Chris Woakes dismissed Reddy to give England the eighth breakthrough right before lunch.

After NItish Kumar Reddy’s dismissal, Ravindra Jadeja put up a steady partnership with Jasprit Bumrah but the duo struggled to get runs. After adding 35 runs for the ninth wicket with Jadeja, Bumrah ended up getting dismissed by English skipper Ben Stokes as the hosts were now just one wicket away from win. After that, Mohammed Siraj joined Jadeja at the crease as the duo were giving tough time to the England bowlers.

However, while India were just 23 runs away from the victory, Mohammed Siraj lost his wicket in one of the most unluckiest ways on Shoabi Malik's delvery as England went on to register a memorabel win at the iconic Lords Cricket Ground. Jadeja stood along for India with his unbeaten 61*(181) runs hitting four fours and one six as the visitors were bowled out for 170 runs. For England, skipper Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer took three wickets each. Apart from that, Brydon Carse took two, while Chris Woakes and Shoabi Bashir scalped a wicket each.
