On Tuesday, July 8, several members of the cricketing fraternity shared the centre-stage for former India all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh’s ‘YouWeCan’ foundation charity event. A notable event, which was announced by Yuvraj Singh, was hosted on July 8 at the Grosvenor House in London. It brought together the Indian cricket team and other sporting legends along with global dignitaries to support the cause.
While several key members of the cricketing fraternity are currently in the United Kingdom to witness the highly-anticipated England versus India Test series, the greats of the game, including Yuvraj Singh, Kevin Pietersen, Virat Kohli, Ravi Shastri, Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, among others were spotted in attendance at the charity gala on Tuesday night.

The ‘YouWeCan’ gala was an iconic, first of its kind night where cricket met compassion to support cancer fighters across the globe, offering as a fundraiser for the foundation which was launched by former India all-rounder after his own battle with cancer. The event was held just two days prior to Team India’s next Test match against England, which is scheduled to commence from July 10 at Lord’s.
Team India unites for ‘YouWeCan’ charity event in London
The night was hosted by some prominent faces, Gaurav Kapoor and Jatin Sapru, it saw the legends of the game, namely, Virat Kohli, Sachin, Lara, Shastri among others stand in support of the cause. Moreover, the Indian cricket team, which is currently in England, also marked their attendance. Taking to X, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also shared the picture of the Indian cricket team with the greats of the game, writing, “Stars align in London for a noble cause!”
It is to be noted that ‘YouWeCan’ foundation was launched after Yuvraj Singh battled cancer, in order to raise awareness and conduct early screening workshops for oral, breast and other cancers. The foundation provides aid for cancer treatments and educational scholarships to young survivors and also support them in emotional and social reform programs.
