Rajasthan Royals (RR) openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi looked in magnificent touch with their bats while kicking off innings for their team against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Batting first after winning the toss, Punjab posted a massive total of 219/5 in their 20 overs. From Kings, Nehal Wadhera and Shashank Singh looked spectacular and chipped in with their 70 (37) and unbeaten 59 (30) respectively. Azmatullah Omarzai, who came to bat at number seven, also hammered an unbeaten 21 off just nine.

Chasing the huge target, Royals got a brilliant start from their openers Jaiswal and Suryavanshi. Both took PBKS’ bowling attack to the cleaners and built a 76-run stand off just 29 balls. They both brought their team’s fifty in just 17 balls. Suryavanshi fell against Harpreet Brar after notching up 40 off 15. Jaiswal also returned to the pavilion after hitting swift 50 off 25. Impressed with their aggressive partnership, an X user named Vishal wrote, “RR crossed fifty Runs in just 2.5 Overs without taking single Run Against PBKS. Yashasvi Jaiswal And Vaibhav Suryavanshi dealing in 4s And 6s only. #PBKSvRR #PBKSvsRR.”

Harpreet Brar displayed courage as impact player

PBKS spinner Harpreet Brar participated in the game as an impact player, replacing his captain Shreyas Iyer. Bowling his four overs, the spin wizard exhibited spunk and grabbed 3/22 figures in his four-over spell. The left-arm spinner picked up both dangerous openers Suryavanshi and Jaiswal.

After getting rid of both youngsters, he removed RR vice-captain Riyan Parag, who could contribute only 13 off 11. As of writing, RR require 30 off 12 with Dhruve Jurel (unbeaten 47 off 27) and Shubham Dubey (three off two) at the crease.
