Following an exceptional all-round performance from the Indian bowlers, bundling out England for 192 runs in 62.1 overs in their second innings on day four of the third Test, Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal lost his wicket without troubling the scorers. In pursuit of the 193-run target, to go 2-1 up in the five-match Test series at Lord’s in London, the Indian opener, who had just played out the opening over, got the strike in the second over after his partner KL Rahul took a single off Jofra Archer.
On the very first ball Yashasvi Jaiswal faced from the England speedster, which was well outside his off stump from round the wicket, Yashasvi Jaiswal went for the pull. The left-handed batter didn’t have any control on the stroke not only because the ball was well outside his eye line but it was also bowled at very quick pace, and it immediately went up in the air off the top edge before Jamie Smith caught it easily.

Notably, it was the second time in two innings that Yashasvi Jaiswal lost his wicket on the bowling of Jofra Archer after facing just four deliveries from him. In the next couple of Test matches of this highly pulsating Test series, it will be quite interesting to see how Jaiswal tackles Archer, who clearly has a wood over him in the short battle they have had at Lord’s in London this week.
As of this writing, India have reached 43/2 in 13 overs in pursuit of the 193-run target with KL Rahul and Shubman Gill, the two of their best batters at the crease.
