Punjab Kings (PBKS) got off to a flying start in the match 66th of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. After Josh Inglis and Prabhsimran Singh took the DC pacers to the cleaners in the early stages of the PBKS innings, they were dismissed in quick succession by the leg spinner Vipraj Nigam, to bring his team back into the contest.
The wicket of Josh Inglis fell in the sixth over of the PBKS innings on a quicker ball down the leg side from Vipraj Nigam, when the Australian wasn’t able to catch up with it in his attempt to hit a boundary. While the ball was called a wide by the umpire, Tristan Stubbs had already taken the bails off behind the stumps, to send Josh Inglis packing back into the pavilion for 32 runs in 12 balls with three fours and two sixes.
In his next over, Prabhsimran Singh, who was batting on 28 runs in 17 balls with four fours and one sixes at the time, tried to play a cheeky scoop shot towards the fine leg region, only to miss the fuller length ball from Vipraj Nigam entirely before it crashed into the stumps. With that, PBKS found themselves 77/3 in eight overs, getting their progress stalled by the young leg spinner before captain Shreyas Iyer took charge of the innings.
