The ongoing third Test at the Lord’s Cricket Ground is well poised with England taking mere two-run lead at the end of day three’s play. For the unversed, England won the toss and elected to bat first. On the back of a 104 from Joe Root and fifty plus scores from Jamie Smith and Brydon Carse, England posted decent 387 runs on the board.

In reply, India also posted 387, courtesy a 100 from KL Rahul along with 70-plus knocks from Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja. After England restricting them at 387, the hosts once again took the guards in the middle and only played an over, posting two-run lead. However, the match has been an entertainer so far, day three was extra special, the last over drama.

Jasprit Bumrah claps at Zak Crawley for faking injury on Day 3 of Lord’s Test

As Crawley and Ben Duckett took the crease to resume England’s second innings, the former played antics to delay the proceedings. After a go-ahead from the on-field umpires, Crawley took 90 seconds to take the guard. Two balls later, he was seen stopping Bumrah twice in his run-up, adding drama. His tactics then brought frustration as he faked an injury on the penultimate ball to delay the game.

As tensions flared on the field, the fielder, led by Jasprit Bumrah went up to Crawley to sarcastically clap for him. Furthermore, Shubman Gill shared more than just pleasantries at him, getting angry and telling him to “grow some f***ing ba***.” With some theatrics on offer at the end of day’s play on Saturday, July 12, India will hope to restrict England at a low score and then chase it down with ease to go 2-1 up in the series.
