In the main event of WWE Evolution Premier Live Event (PLE), which emanated from State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Women’s World Champion Iyo Sky and challenger Rhea Ripley put on an absolute clinic. With both of them down for the count inside the ring, Naomi shockingly made her way to the ring with her Money in the Bank (MITB) contract before successfully cashing it in, to become the new Women’s World Champion to close out an incredible all-women’s PLE.
The highly pulsating Women’s World Championship match between Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley took a lot of both the superstars with them inflicting a lot of damage on each other. They used everything in their arsenal to secure the championship win, and at one stage, with the referee Jessica Carr down and out, the action went in the stands where Sky did a diving crossbody from the top of the stack on Ripley.
Naomi becomes first woman in WWE to cash-in MITB contract in a triple threat title match
Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley still managed to make their way inside the ring before they went up to the top rope, jockeying for position before pulling off an Avalanche Spanish Fly to find themselves laying inside the ring. Moments later, Naomi came out with a referee in tow, inserted herself in the championship match by cashing in her MITB contract, and made it a triple threat.
Naomi used the MITB briefcase as a weapon, bashing it in the head of Iyo Sky before removing Rhea Ripley out of the picture by pushing her out of the ring. It led to Naomi finding Sky in perfect position in the corner of the ring before climbing the apron to deliver a picture-perfect Split-Legged Moonsault on her and pinning her to become the new Women’s World Champion to an insane reaction from fans inside the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
It was quite a surprise pulled off by Naomi to cash-in her MITB contract for the Women’s World Championship, especially with her fiercest rivals Jade Cargill challenging for the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam PLE next month. Earlier in the night, it was Jade Cargill who defeated Naomi in a No Holds Barred match at WWE Evolution.
