Alejandro Garnacho, the Manchester United and Argentina winger, got cast out of the side by manager Ruben Amorim in the aftermath of his reaction to not getting picked in the starting XI for the UEFA Europa League 2024-25 final two months ago. The 21-year-old didn’t feature in Manchester United’s squad for the last match of the Premier League last season against Aston Villa before the same happened on the post-season tour in Asia.
Ahead of the start of the 2025-26 season, the Manchester United hierarchy, including the manager, have reportedly told Alejandro Garnacho to find a new team in the ongoing summer transfer window otherwise he won’t be able to get game time with them. Amid that, according to several reports in the media, he has been linked with several clubs, including a few in the Premier League before Napoli looked to sign him for £45 million.
Alejandro Garnacho will not be included in Manchester United's pre-season tour squad: Reports
In a recent report published in The Telegraph, Alejandro Garnacho has rejected a move to Al-Nassr, the Saudi Pro League side, and he is preferring a move to Europe in the younger stage of his career. The decision from the Argentine still might come as a surprise to a few since Cristiano Ronaldo, the idol of Alejandro Garnacho, had just signed a contract extension with the Saudi Pro League club, and he would have gotten the chance to play with him if the offer was accepted.
It is now understood that Manchester United will not include the Argentine in their pre-season tour squad just a month before the Premier League 2025-26 season begins.
Apart from Alejandro Garnacho, his Manchester United teammate and England winger Marcus Rashford is also preferring a move to Europe since he isn’t also in the plans of manager Ruben Amorim. Following the completion of his loan move to Aston Villa, which was quite a fruitful one, Marcus Rashford will be confident about leaving his boyhood club on a permanent transfer, to start a new journey in his footballing career.
