Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj was seen paying tribute to late Portugal forward Diogo Jota on the second day of the ongoing third Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at iconic Lord’s in London. The 28-year-old Portuguese footballer, along with his brother Andre, died in a car crash in the province of Zamora in Spain on July 3. Following Jota’s death, former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh expressed shock and mourned the star footballer’s death in a post on X. Eight days after the Liverpool star’s death, Siraj was seen remembering him.
Bowling his first over in the second session of day two, Mohammed Siraj ended the dangerous stand of Jamie Smith and Brydon Carse. The speedster got Smith caught at the hands of Dhruv Jurel, who came as a substitute for Rishabh Pant. After dismissing the England stumper-batter, Siraj celebrated by alluding 20 with his fingers and looking up at the sky in respect to Diogo Jota. Mohammed Siraj has been a football fan and in the past, he has emulated Cristiano Ronaldo’s trademark "Siuuu" celebration after picking up wickets. After getting the better of Smith, Siraj picked up Brydon Carse and ended England’s innings on 387. Carse hit his maiden Test fifty. The England pacer lost his wicket after scoring 56 off 83.

Jofra Archer dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal on his return to Test cricket
Jofra Archer, who has returned to Test cricket after more than four years, announced his comeback in style. On the third delivery of his first over, the lanky speedster outclassed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal to deliver the first breakthrough to England. Jaiswal got caught at the second slip, where Harry Brook displayed alacrity while guarding the area.
After Jaiswal’s departure, Karun Nair joined KL Rahul in the middle. Nair, who hasn’t produced any solid knock in the series so far, will be expected to play a fine innings from his bat, this time. Nair, along with Rahul, will be expected to help India recover after the loss of Jaiswal.
