Mitchell Starc, the Australian fast bowler, got spotted losing his cool with a fan in a viral video on social media, wherein he was being recorded at the airport without his permission. The 35-year-old shouted “go away” at the fan multiple times, gesturing and shooing him away while loading his kit onto a trolley outside the airport terminal, while it is presumed that the viral video was being made in Delhi, India, from where he left the country last week.

Notably, Mitchell Starc, who is a part of Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, left for Australia a few days ago amid cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan. Just before IPL 2025 was suspended for a week, he was a part of DC playing XI, taking on Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamshala, where the match was called off due to potential of an attack since the city is in close proximity with the international border to Pakistan.

Mitchell Starc decides against returning to India to play remainder of IPL 2025 season

With the IPL 2025 season set to resume on Saturday, May 17, Mitchell Starc has stated his decision of not coming back to India, to be a part of Delhi Capitals setup in the remainder of the tournament. He has let his intention known to the team management of DC, and with that, the Australian fast bowler will now shift his attention to the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final 2025 against South Africa at the Lord’s in London next month.

Before stating that he won’t be coming back to take part in the remainder of the IPL 2025, Mitchell Starc became the leading wicket-taker with 14 scalps in 11 matches for DC this season. The absence of the experienced pacer could be a deciding factor in regards to DC potentially making the playoffs this season, especially when they are in a five-way battle for top four spots.
