In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad smashed a mammoth 278 for three in their 20 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders. SRH opener Travis Head displayed his courageous side with his bat and produced a phenomenal knock of 76 off just 40. His breathtaking innings was studded with 12 boundaries (six fours and six maximums). After that, Heinrich Klaasen smashed his second IPL hundred. Batting first after winning the toss, the Orange Army were expecting their openers to come heavily on KKR bowlers and Head, along with his opening ally Abhishek Sharma, delivered the desired results. Both stitched a 92-run stand together for the first wicket off just 41 balls.

After Abhishek’s departure in the seventh over of the match, the Australia player built an 83-run partnership with Heinrich Klaasen. Sunil Narine got the better of the southpaw in the 13th over of the match. Playing his final IPL 2025 game, the 31-year-old played his best knock of the season. Noting his sensational performance, netizen showered praise on him. A social media user named Mufaddal Vohra took to X and wrote, “Well done, Travis Head. 76 (40) with 6 fours and 6 sixes. Last match of the season, set a wonderful platform for SRH. Head in form ahead of the WTC Final.”

SRH deliver a huge target to KKR

After Head’s departure, Sunrisers witnessed the ruthless side of Heinrich Klaasen, who hammered Kolkata’s bowling attack mercilessly. The Protea went on to notch up his second IPL ton, which came in just 37 deliveries. Riding on his magnificent batting effort, the 2016 champions have posted a gigantic score of 278/3 on the board in their 20 overs. Klaasen remained unbeaten until the end of the innings with his score of 105 off 39.

Kolkata will have to bat extraordinarily to chase down the target and conclude their 2025 campaign on a winning note. Knight Riders’ highest successful chase in the cash-rich league is 206 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in the 2019 season.
