On Thursday, June 12, the Assam Cricket Association announced 24-member squad for the upcoming tour of Namibia, which is set to commence from June 21. It is to be noted that the Namibia cricket team is set to host India’s domestic side, Assam for five-match ODI series.

While the tour was taken into consideration to provide valuable experience to young and upcoming players from the Indian state as well as Namibia. The series is set to commence from June 21 with the final fixture scheduled to be played on June 29. Notably, all matches of the series will be played at the FNB Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek.

Riyan Parag named skipper of Assam’s cricket team for Namibia tour

Just days ahead of the tour, the Assam Cricket Association announced their squad, which consists of a blend of youth and experience. India all-rounder, Riyan Parag will be leading his state team, which also includes Denish Das, Akash Sengupta and Parvej Musaraf. On the other hand, Gerhard Erasmus will be captaining his national side.

Riyan Parag was last seen donning the Rajasthan Royals (RR) jersey in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. In 14 matches, he amassed 393 runs, averaging 32.75 at a strike rate of 166.52. It is to be noted that earlier, the Namibia national cricket team has played with domestic teams of Punjab and Karnataka.
