Devdutt Padikkal went on to score his second fifty of the season as Royal Challengers Bengaluru successfully took the revenge of the last defeat against Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh. Along with the partnership with Virat Kohli, Padikkal scored a quickfire 61(35) runs as RCB chased the target of 158 runs easily with Kohli (73* off 54) finishing things off.

Coming to bat first after losing the toss, PBKS got a great start as Priyansh Arya (22 off 15) and Prabhsimran Singh (33 off 17) put up an opening partnership of 42 runs in 4.2 overs. However, after the partnership was broken, PBKS started losing regular wickets and were reduced to 114/6 after 13.5 overs. Josh Inglis scored 29(17) runs hitting two fours and a six. After that, Shashank Singh (31 off 33) and Marco Jansen (25 off 20) gave finishing touches as PBKS posted 157/6 in their 20 overs. For RCB, Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma scalped two wickets each while Romario Shephard put one in his bag.

Chasing the winning target, Phil Salt got out in the first over with RCB having just six runs on board. After that, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal put up a partnership of 103 runs for the second wicket, as RCB were in a convincing position to win the match. Padikkal got out after scoring 61 runs off just 35 balls hitting five fours and four sixes. Skipper Rajat Patidar couldn’t play a big knock as he got out after scoring just 12(13) runs.

After that, Virat Kohli and Jitesh Sharma gave finishing touches as RCB chased the winning target in 18.5 overs losing three wickets. Kohli remained unbeaten on 73* runs off 54 balls hitting seven fours and a six, while Jitesh scored 11*(8) finishing the game with a six.
