The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Qualifier 2 between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI) is currently delayed by unexpected rains at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. When the rain was quite light at the venue, the PBKS players came out to warm-up, and in a bizarre turn of events, they had made youngster Priyansh Arya the goalkeeper along the boundary rope for their football game before hilariously kicking the ball at him.
Just prior to rain suddenly arriving in Ahmedabad, the fans at the Narendra Modi Stadium got to witness the toss in the middle, which PBKS captain Sheryas Iyer won and decided to bowl first. The conditions at the time were quite windy, and with the pitch expected to assist the batters as the evening progressed, Shreyas Iyer had no hesitation in putting MI into bat first, which was something his opposing counterpart Hardik Pandya wanted to do as well.
With the play yet to start after a two-hour break, MI fans are on the edge of their seats in regard to their team’s fate. If the rain continues to pour throughout the night, then PBKS will make it through to the IPL 2025 at the expense of MI because they have finished in top spot in the league standings.
