Royal Challengers Bengaluru pacer Yash Dayal got a big relief on the FIR filed against him alleging him for sexual harassment of a woman and exploiting her for five years on the pretext of marriage. On July 6, a complaint was filed against Dayal at Indirapuram police station in Ghaziabad under Section 69 of BNS. After that, Dayal went to Allahabad High Court seeking stay on his arrest.
Now, a bench of Justice Siddharth Varma and Anil Kumar came up with big relief for Yash Dayal as the Allahabad HC put his stay on arrest until the next hearing. “You could have been fooled for 1 day, 2 day, 3 day…but 5 years…you are entering into a relationship for 5 years…one can’t be fooled for 5 years," the bench told the woman while granting a stay on Dayal’s arrest.
Yash Dayal denies any kind of physical relationship with the woman
Yash Dayal moved to the Allahabad High Court seeking a stay on his arrest soon after the FIR was filed against him for sexual harassment of a woman. In his petition, the 27-year-old denied establishing having any physical relationship with the woman on the pretext of marriage. Dayal also said that his family also treated her as a daughter in law. Speaking further, Dayal also mentioned that her attitude changed over time due to which he realised that he can’t marry her.
Yash Dayal claimed that there was a mutual friendship between him and the woman and the cricketer never made any promise of marriage to her. On the other hand, the women kept alleging that she was manipulated by Dayal and the cricketer exploited her physically, mentally, and emotionally.
"For the past five years, the complainant had been in a relationship with a cricketer. The man emotionally, mentally and physically exploited her by misleading her with the promise of marriage. He introduced the complainant to his family and behaved like a husband, which made her trust him completely. When the complainant realized the deception and protested, she was subjected to physical violence and mental harassment," the FIR statement read.
