India suffered a close 22-run defeat in the third Test against England at Lords Cricket Ground on July 14. With this loss, India are now trailing by 1-2 in a five-match Test series and need to win both the remaining Test matches to win the series. The main concern for the Indian fans ahead of the last two Tests is whether Jasprit Bumrah will play both the matches or not. Indian skipper also refused to give any statement on Bumrah’s availability.

The fourth Test match between England and India will be played at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Greater Manchester from July 23 to 27. This means that Indian players have enough time to rest and prepare for the next Test after a heartbreaking defeat at Lords. Reacting to this, former Test captain of India, Anil Kumble advised Jasprit Bumrah to play both the remaining Test matches as India are one the verge of losing the series. "I would certainly, if I’m part of that group, push Bumrah to play the next game," said Kumble in his conversation with JioHostar.

Bumrah doesn’t have to play the home series: Anil Kumble

Speaking further, Anil Kumble also suggested that Jasprit Bumrah can avoid playing in the home Test series against West Indies and should available for the remaining Test matches against England. After the England tour, India are scheduled to host West Indies for two-match Test series in October this year.

"That’s crucial. If he doesn’t play and then we lose the Test, that’s it—the series is done and dusted. I think Bumrah should play both the remaining Tests. I know he’s said he’s going to play only three, but there’s a long break after this. He doesn’t have to play the home series—he can take a break if needed. But I believe he should be out there for the next two.
