New Zealand Cricket (NZC) on Tuesday, July 8 announced 15-member squad for the upcoming Test series against Zimbabwe, set to commence from July 30 in Bulawayo. It is to be noted that the Kiwis will travel to Zimbabwe for a two-match Test series, which will not be a part of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle, which commenced last month after South Africa defeated Australia to win their maiden title.

Days prior to the series, the Black Caps announced their squad, which will see Tom Latham continue as captain of the side. Moreover, the side boasts of the likes of Tom Bundell, Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, Henry Nicholls, among others, Kane Williamson and Michael Bracewell continue to remain out of the side.

While Williamson will remain on the sidelines due to his County Championship commitments, followed by his participation in The Hundred, Michael Bracewell is currently playing in Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 and will be then joining his The Hundred side, Southern Brave. Notably, Matt Fisher remains the latest edition to the Kiwi squad, earning his maiden call-up.

On the other hand, Kyle Jamieson and Ben Sears also miss the tour due to their respective reasons. While Jamieson had made himself unavailable as he awaits the birth of his first child, Ben Sears has been sidelined due to an injury. In notable move, Ajaz Patel has made his return after last featuring in the Test series against India.
