Major Cricket League (MLC), a professional T20 franchise league tournament, saw another edition conclude successfully with MI New York clinching their second title after previously winning the inaugural edition. In what was the third edition of the T20 tournament, MI New York produced one of the most remarkable turnarounds as they secured the title despite losing the first seven games this season.
In the summit clash, which was played between the two title winners, MI New York and Washington Freedom at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, saw the former register a close five-run win. After being put to bat first by Glenn Maxwell-led Freedom, on the back of a 46-ball 77 from Quinton de Kock, the MINY posted 180 runs on the board. In reply to this, the MINY bowlers held their nerves and restricted the Washington-based franchise to 175 in the 20 overs with Rachin Ravindra’s 41-ball 70 and an unbeaten 48 from Glenn Phillips going in vain.
With this, the Nicholas Pooran-led side took home their second title, after they earlier won the inaugural edition, beating Seattle Orcas. Here in this article, we’ve listed the winners and runners-up so far in the Major Cricket League (MLC).
