The footballing world is witnessing the power of the upcoming young generation of talent who are fierce and ready to bring the fire on the pitch. There are always debates ongoing about who is the best. When such a question was asked to Cristiano Ronaldo’s son Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, his answer shocked the whole world and the video went viral.

During a Twitch stream with the creator, 2xRaKai, met Cristiano Jr for the first time and was streaming with him in the car. They were having a chat about different topics and suddenly when the topic came to football, the creator asked Cristiano Jr, "who is his favourite footballer?" Cristiano Jr. replied quickly, “My dad”. Then he asked the creator who his favourite footballer was, to which he replied that he feels right now Lamine Yamal is a better footballer. Cristiano Jr agreed and said, “Lamine hasn't won anything yet”.

Lamine Yamal and Cristiano Ronaldo aim for World Cup 2026

Lamine Yamal has been a consistent performer for Barcelona and Spain in this season. He has put in some magnificent shifts which cannot be forgotten. He played a massive role in guiding Spain to the Nations League final this season and won the EURO 2024 with Spain last year. He has been the starboy for Barcelona, paving the way for them to lift the La Liga in the previous campaign. He is a top contender for the Ballon d’Or 2025 and has expressed that his main goal is to lift the next World Cup with the same.

However, to reach the level of Cristiano Ronaldo, he will have to perform at this level for many years to come. Cristiano has lifted many major trophies during his reign, the recent one being the Nation’s League with Portugal by defeating Lamine Yamal’s Spain. He is keeping himself in shape in order to play the World Cup 2026 with Portugal and fulfill one of his biggest dreams by lifting the World Cup. It will be interesting to see both of them competing against each other next year in the quest for the World Cup 2026.
