India managed to restore parity on the first innings by scoring 387 runs late in the third session of day three of the third Test in the five-match series, getting played for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, at Lord’s in London. With the series level at 1-1, and the scores level on first innings, England openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett walked out to the middle with minutes remaining from stumps on day three of the contest.

After playing a couple of balls from Jasprit Bumrah, taking a couple on the second one, Zak Crawley pulled out for some reason from facing the third delivery from the Indian pacer, who was ready at his mark. It made the Indian captain Shubman Gill quite animated in the slips region, and once Zak Crawley did it again within a few seconds, the skipper shared more than just pleasantries at him, getting angry and telling him to “grow some fu***** ba***”, basically wanting him to get on with it rather than wasting time.

The play eventually started once again with Jasprit Bumrah bowling three more dot balls at Zak Crawley, with the third one wrapping him on the gloves, which made the right-hander calling for the physio. It led to another interruption in play wherein Shubman Gill was spotted pointing a finger at Zak Crawley while exchanging words, and in response, the Englishman did the same to him, while the rest of the players looked on as the umpires intervened.

Ultimately, Zak Crawley managed to make it one over before stumps as the clock struck 6:30 PM local, and then, he negotiated the last ball of third day’s play, which meant that England reached 2/0 in their second innings. They took a slender lead of two runs with two days of play remaining in the enthralling Lord’s Test match, with the weather set fair as well.
