The England versus India third Test is well poised at this moment, with England taking a mere two-run lead at the end of day three’s play at the Lord’s. After England won the toss and elected to bat first, they were restricted to 387, courtesy a five-wicket-haul from Jasprit Bumrah. Thereafter, on the back of KL Rahul’s hundred and 70-plus knocks from Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja, India put up a neck and neck fight and leveled the scores.
Amid this, early in the morning session on day three, a hilarious conversation unfolded when Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul resumed the innings. While Rishabh Pant has time and again spotted having hilarious banters with the opponent side, on Day 3 of the Lord’s Test, he was seen having a playful banter with Ben Duckett.
Same like you: Rishabh Pant drops hilarious response to Ben Duckett’s query of “playing for draw”
During the morning session of day three, with Rishabh Pant batting slower than usual, England opener, Ben Duckett cheekily asked the Indian wicketkeeper-batter, "Just batting for the draw?" Pant was quick to respond, "Same like you?" Seeing Pant's quick reply, Duckett's surprise admission "Yeah", led to laughter all around, with the England opener also adding, "That's me playing on Day 1."
While Pant built a stand of 141 runs off 198 deliveries with KL Rahul, his innings was cut short by Ben Stokes, who ran him out at the score of 74. But during his 112-ball stay in the middle, he kept his intentions clear despite struggling with a finger injury which has kept himoff the wicketkeeping duties.
With only two days left in the Lord’s Test, England will aim to put a mammoth target on board with Zak Crawley (2*) and Ben Duckett (0*) in the middle as they resume from 2/0. On the other hand, India will eye to bundled out the hosts at a comparatively lower score and chase the total with ease to go 2-1 up in the series.
