According to reports by Express Sports, star batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal is all set to represent Mumbai after Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) approved his NOC. The 23-year-old opener had previously applied for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to facilitate a move to Goa, but has now retracted his request. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) approved his withdrawal on Monday. MCA president Ajinkya Naik told The Indian Express that the Apex Council had accepted Jaiswal’s application to withdraw. Earlier this year, the young India opener had written to the MCA, seeking permission to leave Mumbai and represent Goa in domestic cricket.

In a statement released by the association president Ajinkya Naik, "The Apex Council has approved the withdrawal of the No Objection Certificate (NOC) that had been earlier requested by Yashasvi Jaiswal to represent another state. He will continue to be available for Mumbai. "Yashasvi has always been a proud product of Mumbai cricket. We have accepted his withdrawal NOC application, and he will be available for Mumbai in the forthcoming domestic season."

Yashasvi Jaiswal's keen interest in representing Mumbai for the next domestic season

In May, reports emerged that Jaiswal had emailed the MCA to withdraw his No Objection Certificate and confirmed his availability to play for Mumbai in the upcoming domestic season. However, a month earlier, in April 2025, Jaiswal had surprised many by requesting an NOC from the MCA to switch to Goa, citing personal reasons for the potential move. Had he gone through with it, he would have joined the likes of Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad—former Mumbai players who went on to represent Goa.

In a letter written to the association, Jaiswal mentioned, “I, the undersigned, would request your goodself to consider my request in withdrawing my NOC given to me as I had some family plans in shifting to Goa, which for now has been curtailed.” Jaiswal, who is currently playing for India in England in the five-Test series, had a great start with a hundred at Headingly.
