In the 66th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Punjab Kings (PBKS) made a staggering decision of dropping Yuzvendra Chahal against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. At the toss time, Shreyas Iyer, the captain of PBKS, didn’t give any reason in regards to leaving out Yuzvendra Chahal from the matchday squad, but at the same time, they brought in Harpreet Brar in the playing XI.
While the exclusion of Yuzvendra Chahal was a big blow for PBKS, they welcomed the Australian duo of Josh Inglis and Marcus Stoinis in the playing XI, which will definitely add to the strength and depth of their middle order. Moreover, for DC, their captain Axar Patel still isn’t available for selection, which is why Faf du Plessis walked into the middle for the toss during the second straight match.
After getting selected in the Indian Test team on the tour to England, Karun Nair has also been included in the DC playing XI for their 14th and final match of the IPL 2025 season.
