On Tuesday, June 3, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to lift the coveted Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 title. Moreover, the win was even more special as after three years, the premier T20 franchise cricket tournament saw a new champion emerge.
While the match had its own moments, the tournament on a whole saw some extraordinary performances on the field from several players, be it with the bat, ball or in the field. With the RCB being crowned the new champions, Gujarat Titans’ (GT) Sai Sudharsan bagged the Orange Cap for the season.
Sai Sudharsan wins Orange Cap in IPL 2025 with 759 runs
It is important to noted that the Orange Cap isn’t determined on the basis of some subjective analysis, instead it is directly proportional to the runs a player scores in a season. In IPL 2025, GT’s opening batsman, Sai Sudharsan amassed 759 runs across 15 matches, averaging 54.21 at a strike rate of 156.17.
In his entire season, he registered six fifty-plus scores, along with one century. His highest score of unbeaten 108 came against Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 18 when GT defeated the Axar Patel-led side to storm into the playoffs. His knock proved crucial in GT’s win, overpowering KL Rahul’s gritty hundred.
