Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Pat Cummins became the centre of attention when he was seen carrying a cutout of his compatriot Mitchell Marsh on the Orange Army’s team bus. Both Cummins and Mitchell Marsh have played a lot of cricket together while serving Australian cricket team in international cricket. In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Cummins has been captaining Sunrisers while Marsh is serving Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). In SRH’s clash against Lucknow at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on May 19, both Aussies faced each other while representing their respective IPL teams. Marsh, in the previous game, notched up 65 off 39 while Cummins chipped in with a frugal spell of 0/34 to Hyderabad’s win.
The day after the LSG vs SRH game in Lucknow, Cummins created a humorous moment, which got captured on camera. Taking to X, Sunrisers dropped the hilarious clip of Cummins and captioned, “No Mitch Marsh was harmed in this video. Pat Cummins | #PlayWithFire | #TATAIPL2025.”
SRH will contest against RCB in Lucknow on May 23
Sunrisrers’ next game is against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on May 23. Hyderabad are already out of the playoffs race but they will look to trouble Rajat Patidar’s team, who are aiming to end the round-robin stage by securing one of the top two spots.
It will be the first and final instance when both SRH and RCB will face each other in IPL 2025. In the upcoming game, the mouthwatering contest between Cummins and Bengaluru legend Virat Kohli will be expected. This season, Kohli has been an outstanding performer for RCB with his bat, notching up 505 runs in 11 games at a strike rate of 143.46. On the other hand, Cummins has looked decent as a bowler, bagging 13 wickets in 12 matches at an economy of 9.09.
