In a dramatic moment during match 64 of IPL 2025 between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT), a brief but heated altercation between Nicholas Pooran and Mohammed Siraj added spice to an already intense contest. The incident occurred after Pooran struck a boundary off Siraj, following which the two exchanged a few words and gestures.
The umpires quickly intervened to diffuse the situation, and play resumed without further disruption. Then, on the very next ball from Mohammed Siraj, which was pitched in the slot on leg stump, Nicholas Pooran took full toll, smashing it for a massive six towards the deep mid-wicket region, to win their battle in a comprehensive manner.

Earlier, LSG put on a commanding batting display after being asked to bat first by GT. The innings was headlined by a sensational century from Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh. He remained the dominant force at the crease, crafting a majestic 117 off 64 deliveries, decorated with 10 fours and eight sixes. Marsh showcased controlled aggression, timing his assault to perfection and laying a strong foundation for LSG’s massive total. His innings marked the first century by an overseas player in this season of the IPL.

Complementing Marsh’s heroics was Nicholas Pooran, who maintained the momentum with a blistering cameo. He remained unbeaten on 56 off just 27 balls, hammering bowlers all over the park with his signature flair. The left-hander’s calculated assault in the death overs ensured LSG capitalised on the solid platform set earlier.
The duo’s 116-run stand took LSG to a formidable 235/2 in their 20 overs; their highest total of the season and one of the top scores in IPL 2025 so far. As of writing, in response, Gujarat Titans have made a promising start, reaching 94/2 in nine overs. Shubman Gill led the early charge with a quickfire 35 off 20 balls before getting dismissed, while Jos Buttler is at the crease after the early dismissal of Sai Sudharsan.
