In a high-stakes IPL 2025 clash between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC), Marcus Stoinis produced a blistering display of power-hitting that propelled his team to a daunting total of 206/8 in Jaipur. Coming in at a critical juncture, Stoinis unleashed a flurry of strokes, hammering 44 runs off just 16 balls. His explosive innings, laced with boundaries and towering sixes, provided the perfect finish for PBKS, turning a competitive score into a potentially match-winning one. His clean striking and composure under pressure proved vital for the Kings in the death overs.

Stoinis walked in after a solid platform was laid by Shreyas Iyer, who anchored the innings with a classy 53 off 34 balls. Iyer was instrumental in guiding the middle overs, rotating strike efficiently and punishing loose deliveries. Josh Inglis also played a valuable cameo, smashing 32 off just 12 balls in a display of fearless intent. The trio of Iyer, Inglis, and Stoinis ensured Punjab kept the scoreboard ticking rapidly, especially after the powerplay lull, accelerating at the right time to breach the 200-run mark.

DC face monumental task in chasing 207 against PBKS in IPL 2025 clash

Delhi’s bowling attack struggled to contain the onslaught in the final overs. Mustafizur Rahman emerged as the most successful bowler, picking up three wickets for 33 runs. He used his variations well, but lacked consistent support from the other end. Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam chipped in with two wickets apiece, but the bowling unit overall failed to maintain discipline during the final push. Their inability to execute yorkers and slower balls effectively allowed Stoinis and company to dominate the closing stages.

The pressure is now firmly on the Delhi Capitals as they chase 207 under the lights in Jaipur. With KL Rahul and Faf du Plessis getting off to a steady start in the powerplay, DC still have a chance, but they’ll need someone to replicate Stoinis’s fireworks to stay in the hunt.
