Kylian Mbappe’s late goal helps Real Madrid setup semifinal clash against PSG
But a stunning overhead kick from Kylian Mabppe finding the back of the net in the 95th miunte, helped Madrid progress into the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. Soon after Mbappe brought in his scissor-kick goal, he ran towards the sidelines and gestured 20 with his fingers in memory of late Diogo Jota.
The French striker’s gesture came as a tribute to Jota, who passed away alongside his brother Andre Silva in a car crash on Thursday, July 3. As per reports quoting BBC, the two brothers were driving a Lamborghini, which went off the road due to a tyre-blow out in an attempt to overtake another vehicle. In this process, the car caught fire, leading to the sudden demise of the two.
Putting this aside, the Real Madrid side will next face PSG in the semi-final of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 on July 10 at 12:30 am (IST) onwards. In the other semi-final, which is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, July 9, Chelsea will take on brazilian side Fluminense.
