Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj showed a great display on field on day 5 as India defeated England in the second Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham to level the five-match series by 1-1. Although Siraj got just one wicket in the second innings after a six-wicket haul in the first, he displayed great prowess as a fielder and took a few great catches including the one to dismiss Josh Tongue on Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery on the final day of the Test match.

While England were already eight-wicket down while chasing a mammoth target of 608 runs, Josh Tongue tried a flick shot against Jadeja at the score of 246 runs. However, the English batter couldn’t time it well as the ball went towards mid wicket. Siraj, who already standing there, went on to dive low and ended up taking a stunning one catch as England were now nine down with India needing just one wicket to win.

Akash Deep bags 5 wickets in second innings as India level the 5-match series by 1-1

Talking about the match, fast bowler Akash Deep turned out to be a star for India on day five as he took a five-wicket haul on day 5 of the second Test against England at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Coming as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah, Akash took a total of 10 wickets in the match including four wickets in the first innings and six wickets in the second innings.

While chasing a target of 608 runs, England were bowled out for 271 runs in the second innings as India won by 336 runs and levelled the series by 1-1. This was also India’s first-ever Test win at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Now, the third match of the series is scheduled to be played at the iconic Lords cricket ground from July 10 to 14.
