Team India batter KL Rahul and England Test captain Ben Stokes were seen facing each other in a fun challenge ahead of the first Test between their teams to be played in Leeds from June 20. Both India and England will be taking on each other in the red-ball format after 15 months. India will aim to start their campaign positively under their new captain Shubman Gill to achieve their dream of winning the first Test series on English soil after 18 years. On the other side, the hosts will look to continue their dominance in their backyard while playing against India. In their last four Test competitions in England, India have faced humiliating series defeats on three instances. However, they will be content with the fact they levelled their last Test series against the home team by 2-2

Prior to the big game, Rahul and Stokes participated in a lively event organised by Red Bull. They were seen in a vivacious mood and both players were tasked to hold their bats and hit round-plated targets kept on auto-rickshaws and colourful props. The star players hit the targets and the contest concluded on a cheerful note with fireworks.

KL Rahul’s batting numbers in England

KL Rahul’s experience will be crucial for Team India in the upcoming five-match Test competition. He is one of the experienced players in the current Team India camp and his responsibility will be to bolster the team’s batting attack effectively. Discussing his batting numbers in England, he has scored 614 runs with two hundreds and a fifty in 18 innings of nine Tests. His average stands at 34.11 in English conditions.

The 33-year-old might be handed the task to open India’s innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Both looked decent as an opening pair in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 played in Australia. The right-handed batter did a fine job in the series held Down Under. He scored 276 runs with two fifties in 10 innings of five matches.
