England is currently hosting India in the first Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Headingley, Leeds. With the onset of English summer and the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle, England will hope to continue their domination over India, while the Men in Blue will hope to end their 18-year-wait of winning a Test series on the English soil.

With the first Test underway at the Headingley, the Shubman Gill-led side put up a dominating show after being put to bat first by the Ben Stokes-led home side. On the back of centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal (101), Shubman Gill (147) and Rishabh Pant (134), India posted 471 on the board in 113 overs. After being bundled out in the second session on Day 2 of the opening Test, an unbeaten 100 from Ollie Pope put England on top.

Jasprit Bumrah’s animated gesture with Gautam Gambhir goes viral in 1st Test vs ENG

Although, England have so far lost three batters in Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett and Joe Root, the Men in Blue grabbed the limelight after dropping catches on the field on Day 2. Seeing them struggle, pace spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah, who bagged all three wickets, was seen having an animated conversation with head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Notably, the moment occurred in the 40th over of the England innings when Bumrah left the field. While Shardul Thakur was bowling his over, the cameraman panned towards the Indian dressing room where Bumrah was seen making his point in an animated manner to Gambhir. Moreover, the Indian pacer seemingly looked unhappy, videos and pictures of which have been going viral.

Although, the exact conversation remains unknown, it comes with England looking good with the bat as they trail India by 262 runs at stumps on Day 2. Ollie Pope, who went on to score his ninth Test hundred, which was laced with 13 fours, is currently at the crease with Harry brook (0* off 12).
