Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya has come up with a new look ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Eliminator game against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the New PCA Stadium on May 30. Both Mumbai and Gujarat played two games against each other in this competition, with the Shubman Gill-led team emerging victorious on both occasions. In the Eliminator contest, MI will look to hold their nerves and beat Gujarat to avenge previous defeats that came in the round-robin stage. Mumbai will enter the playoffs after losing to Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their final league round game played in Jaipur on May 26.

Pandya will look to lead the team from the front in this match to help MI get the better of Titans. Prior to the contest, a video has gone viral on social media, in which Hardik seems to be going towards nets for batting practice. Pandya, while heading towards the middle of the ground, says “New match, new look.” In the clip, the 31-year-old can be seen in the appearance which he donned while serving India against South Africa in the T20 World Cup final 2024 played in Barbados. Following Pandya, the person in the video remarks, “actually it’s an old look” to which MI skipper reacts with a smile and agrees with him replying, “It’s an old look”. The star all-rounder also added, “Focused.”

Hardik Pandya’s performance in IPL 2025

Hardik Pandya hasn’t been at his best in IPL 2025. Appearing in 13 games, he has amassed only 13 wickets and 187 runs. These numbers do not justify his reputation as in the past, he has proven how detrimental he can be against opponents while serving Mumbai in all departments of the game.

After making a comeback in MI in 2024, he hasn’t looked consistent as he used to be until 2021. Noting his magnificent prowess and vast experience, the MI team management will expect him to deliver impactful performances to the side in the remainder of the tournament so that MI can lift the trophy for the record sixth time.
