In her latest match at Wimbledon 2025, British sensation Emma Raducanu displayed an astonishing performance over the former champion Marketa Vondrousova defeating her and progressing into the third round of Wimbledon. She won the match 6-3 6-3 in just 82 minutes, marking one of the most powerful displays in her career at the highest level of the game. She became the third English player to progress into the third round after Sonay Kartal and Cameron Norrie. This performance was also a reflection of three months of hard work with Petchey, her current coach.
Emma Raducanu made a statement in one of her interviews that she felt that she had played really well today. She also stated that, “I knew playing Marketa was going to be an extremely difficult match, she’s won this tournament and it’s a huge, huge achievement. She’s also in form really well. I’m just so happy about how I competed, put my game on the court and I was just focused the whole way through,” following her fabulous performance against the Czech International.

Emma Raducanu will be facing World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the next round
After defeating the Czech International, Emma Raducanu will face the likes of the Belarusian International, Aryna Sabalenka in the next round of Wimbledon. She is currently ranked as the world No. 1 in women's singles by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), and is a former world No. 1 in women's doubles. Sabalenka had defeated the Czech International Marie Bouzkova in her previous round by the score of 7-6 (4), 6-4. Sabalenka has an aggressive style of play, often accumulating high numbers of winners and unforced errors. With her height, she also has a powerful serve.
Raducanu had been through a lot before the game and there were not many expectations from her to perform well, after she was recovering from her back injury and had to face many undisclosed personal problems before coming into the tournament. However, her hardwork and dedication towards the game has paid off for her and she will be waiting to display a match-winning performance just like this one against Aryna Sabalenka in the next match.
