The month-long FIFA Club World Cup 2025 finally concluded with Chelsea reigning victorious against Paris Saint-Germain by 3-0 margin at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday night. After a roller-coaster ride through the tournament, the Blues stood firm with a brace from Cole Palmer and the final coming from Brazilian Joao Pedro.

Cole Palmer produced scintillating masterclass in the finale to help Chelsea win the title in a one-sided match. While the star mid-fielder struck the first in the 22nd minute when PSG full-back Nuno Mendes gifted the possession to Gusto, Palmer doubled the lead after the 30th minute. He then played a pivotal role while finding Joao Pedro, who took the ball in his stride and beat the offside trap to place the ball inside the goal, managing keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Donald Trump celebrates Chelsea’s title triumph on stage; video goes viral

While this win proved crucial for The Blues, who came into the tournament after winning Europe’s third tier Conference League, it was a heartbreak for the Parisians, who recently claimed a historic treble. Seeing Chelsea win, US President, Donald Trump, who was also in attendance, was seen taking the stage with The Blues during their trophy celebrations.

Reece James and Cole Palmer left confused over Donald Trump’s title celebration

Seeing Donald Trump celebrate in an unexpected moment, the President of the United States notably refused to leave the podium. It is to be noted that dignitaries step aside after handing the trophy, allowing the players to celebrate their moment. But in this scenario, Trump chose the opposite, with FIFA President Gianni Infantino also joining the celebrations.

Cole Palmer was asked of Trump’s presence on stage, to which the star mid- fielder replied, “I knew he was going to be there, but I didn't know he was going to be on the stand when we lifted the trophy, so I was a bit confused.” Reece James, the captain of Chelsea was also inquired about the same, to which he responded, “I thought he (Trump) was going to exit the stage but he wanted to stay.”
