Oasis, an British rock band formed in Manchester in 1991, took the centre-stage as they held their first performance in 16 years. As they began their reunion tour in Cardiff, Wales, they played a special tribute to the late Portuguese international footballer Diogo Jota & his brother Andre Silva, who died in an unfortunate car accident in Spain. They performed and dedicated one of their most memorable songs ‘Live Forever’ in the loving memory of both the brothers as the audience sang their hearts out to honour the Liverpool forward.

As soon as they finished their tribute with their song, the screen at the back flashed an image of Diogo Jota in his No.20 Liverpool jersey. This moment made the audience feel very emotional as they marked their respect for the Portuguese international with a huge round of applause. The fact that the Oasis brothers are die-hard Man City fans, who are the arch-rivals of Liverpool, makes this moment even more special and makes a significant statement to why football has the power to unite the whole world.

Football world remembers Diogo Jota after forward’s tragic demise

Diogo Jota was a promising footballer, who was marching towards the peak of his career. He had recently lifted the Premier League title with Liverpool and won the UEFA Nations League with Portugal. Not many could come close to his technicality and ability to find goal-scoring opportunities. His absence leaves behind a huge void of grief knowing that the world lost such an amazing talent way too early.

More than a footballer he was a loving husband, a supportive son, an amazing father of three kids, a caring friend and most importantly a very kind-hearted person, according to all his loved ones. The entire world was left in shock after such a terrible incident which occured with him and his brother on Thursday, July 3.
