Kota Takai, a Japanese professional footballer, played as a centre back for Kawasaki Frontale and the Japan national team. He has four senior international caps with Japan and also appeared at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Takai is a young defender who has only experienced Japanese football having come through the Kawasaki Frontale youth academy. However, the latest news confirms that Tottenham Hotspurs have officially announced Kota Takai as their third new signing.
The 20-year-old Japanese international signs his contract for five-years at the club. He has been bought for a reported transfer fee of £5m, which is a record transfer fee for a player from the J1 League. Kotai Takai is rated highly by everyone at Tottenham Hotspurs and they believe that he is a boy full of potential. Takai will have to face a lot of competition to get in the starting lineup alongside the likes of Christian Romero, Van De Ven, Danso & Dragusin.

Kota Takai seemed to be very happy about his signing. In his first interview with the media of Spurs, he expressed excitement. “My position is centre-back. I can play either side - right or left. I was born in Kanagawa, Japan. I've always played football since my childhood. The reason why I love football is because as a team we can improve our skills together,” Takai said.
When asked about playing in the Premier League, he revealed that he has always watched the Premier League a lot, since he was little. He also made a statement that at Spurs, his first aim is to be on the pitch for a match and to do his best. Thomas Frank will be looking forward to meeting his new signing in the pre-season training and developing him to his full potential.
