Royal Challengers Bengaluru got a big shock in the ongoing IPL 2025 final against Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad as they lost their star batter Virat Kohli at a crucial moment of the innings. Coming to bat first after losing the toss, RCB lost their first wicket in the form of Phil Salt (16 off 9) in the second over of the innings. In the seventh over, Yuzvendra Chahal struck for PBKS as Mayank Agarwal departed after scoring 24(18) runs. Skipper Rajat Patidar also got a great start but couldn’t get more than 26 runs in 16 balls as RCB were reduced to 96/3 in 10.5 overs.

After that, Virat Kohli and Liam Livingstone were looking to take the innings further as the duo added 35 runs for the fourth wicket. However, while attempting a pull shot on a slower bouncer by Azmatullah Omarzai, Kohli couldn’t time well as the ball was left hanging in the air. After that, Omarzai ended up taking a spectacular catch with a dive. Kohli got out after scoring 43 runs off 35 balls, hitting three boundaries. Reacting to this, Kohli’s wife also looked disappointed with his dismissal.
