Tyrese Haliburton, the Indiana Pacers point guard, is a two-time NBA All-Star and two-time All-NBA Third Team selection. Haliburton made his debut for Indiana Pacers in February 2022 in a 120-113 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The President of the Indiana Pacers, Kevin Pritchard looked to build the team around Haliburton as its long-term centerpiece at the time, and it paid off quite well. The Indian Pacers, particularly in the year 2025, were known to play a considerably fast pace of play, with Haliburton directing their offense.
Now, Kevin Pritchard confirmed that Tyrese Haliburton will be out for the next season due to injury of a torn right achilles tendon during the NBA 2025 Finals. He has undergone a surgery for that which has been deemed as successful and is now on his way to recovery. Doctors have stated that this injury will take approximately a year to heal, which is why he will not be able to participate in the league next year.
Words cannot express the pain of this letdown: Tyrese Haliburton
Tyrese Haliburton guided the Indiana Pacers to their first NBA Finals last season since the year 2000. He averaged 18.6 points, 9.2 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.4 steals a game last year. The star point guard suffered an injury during the crucial game which led to them losing in the final after coming close to championship victory in so many years. The Oklahoma City Thunder went on to win the game by defeating the Pacers 103-91 and clinch their first-ever NBA title in the history of their franchise.
Haliburton was devastated by his injury and from the hospital bed he went on to share a tweet which said, "The frustration is unfathomable. I’ve worked my whole life to get to this moment and this is how it ends? Makes no sense." He also stated that he will come out of the injury as a better player. The injury doesn't worry him at all as he would do it again to fight for the franchise and would give it all for the glory of the team.
