KL Rahul has been in remarkable touch against England in the ongoing opening Test getting played at Headingley. Rahul, who looked decent with his bat in the first innings, stepped up at the time when India lost three quick wickets under 100 runs in the second innings. After captain Shubman Gill’s fall, Rahul, along with Pant, held his nerves and shattered England’s bowling attack’s confidence. Both maintained a 195-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Rahul completed his century in 202 balls and brought his ninth Test ton. In English conditions, it was Rahul’s third hundred.

Rishabh Pant brings up his second ton in 1st Test

Besides Rahul, Pant also did a sensational job in the game. After scoring a hundred in the first innings, he looked relentless against the hosts’ bowlers again in the second innings. The left-handed batter completed his seventh Test century in 130 deliveries. This wass his fourth red-ball century on England’s soil.

With this extraordinary innings, he has equalled the record of Sachin Tendulkar and Dilip Vengsarkar, who have notched up four Test hundreds in English conditions. Now, Pant is also the only player to score a couple of tons in a Test match in English conditions. Commending Pant’s batting, an X user named Adorable wrote, “RECORD BREAKING MADNESS.
