Paul Pogba is set to join French club AS Monaco on a contract valid until June 2027, recent reports have revealed. The French international will fly to Monaco in the next 24 hours after his contract is checked by his team of lawyers. Medical tests are to be conducted later this week, as per Fabrizio Romano and with Pogba’s move to AS Monaco, he is set to make a return to European football after he was suspended due to doping allegations.
The former Juventus and Manchester United player is set to make a return to his homeland and join the Ligue 1 club on a free transfer. The 32-year-old will be eager to step up and perform for the team, which will help him to get back into the French national team. A report from La Parisien states that “Pogba has made significant financial sacrifices” so that the deal can be sealed by AS Monaco.

In February 2024, Paul Pogba was handed four-year ban after he was tested positive for using DHEA, which is a Performance Enhancement Drug which is banned. After which the Frenchman filed an appeal and the ban was later reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). As per reports, “Pogba was deciding to retire from football after he was handed the ban initially” , but he had faith because whatever he did was never on purpose and to his good luck the sentence was later reduced to 18 months.
Pogba's last game was a 29-minute cameo for Juventus in September 2023. The last time he played a full match for a team was with Manchester United in March 2022. Now after two difficult years he is all set to revive his career at the French team and help the team to be strong contenders for the title in the French league.
