Few weeks after the case of the medical team of Diego Maradona was nullified, the judge of the case, Julieta Makintach has reportedly decided to resign from the position after she was forced to step down from the case due to her role in an unauthorized documentary. She has decided to quit her role entirely a few weeks after her case was declared as void.

Judge Julieta Makintach was forced to step down from the case a few weeks back after it emerged that she had been involved in a documentary miniseries about the case, potentially breaking a string of ethics rules. This case was deemed to be started as a new case with new judges involved in order to conduct the right and just trial required in the matter.

Maradona case to have a fresh start after scandals: Reports

Maradona, who was considered as the greatest ever player, died in November 2020 while he was recovering from a brain surgery at the age of 60. He died due to a condition of heart failure and acute pulmonary edema, a condition where fluid accommodated in the lungs just two weeks after undergoing a surgery.

The medical team of Maradona which consisted of 7 people went under trial over the conduct of his treatment at his home. This case was already long delayed into Maradona’s death in 2020.

Due to medical negligence, after weeks of hearing and testimonies from over 40 witnesses, the Argentine court decided to conduct a retrial of this case due to the unethical behaviour of the former judge of the case Julieta Makintach.

Reports suggest that her eviction from the case played a very significant role for her to decide to resign as a judge. Her unfair and unethical appearance on a show based on the death case leads to a new trial for the justice of Diego Maradona
