Real Madrid, who are currently participating in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, have managed to clinch a spot in the semi-final. They somehow managed to hold their nerves against Borussia Dortmund, who were pouncing on making a comeback. Real Madrid scored three goals in the match which made it difficult for the Black & Yellows to make a comeback which led to the Los Blancos eliminating Dortmund out of the tournament and progressing through to the semis. They will be facing the Champions League winners PSG in the final four.

Taking into account their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, several reports have suggested that Real Madrid have put their request across to La Liga in order to postpone the dates of their opening La Liga fixture against Osasuna. Currently the fixture is set to be played on Tuesday, August 19th. However Real Madrid have sought permission in order to postpone this fixture due to lack of rest to the players due to their involvement in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.

Real Madrid suggest new dates for La Liga match against Osasuna: Reports

According to a report by ‘SER’, the letter sent across to the management of La Liga contains an agreement between Real Madrid and Osasuna and also the Spanish Federation, requesting to reschedule the match on 29 October 2025. This is also the week when the first round of the Copa Del Rey matches are likely to take place.

Xabi Alonso’s side are just focusing on the upcoming fixture against PSG, as their goal at the moment is to lift the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. Chelsea have already made their way to the final of the tournament by defeating Fluminense. It will be interesting to see how Real Madrid strategize against PSG in order to move into the finals and lift their first silverware under Xabi Alonso.
