Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar and Phil Salt will be available for their team’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on May 23. The update was provided by the team’s head coach Andy Flower just a day before the game. With the tournament heading towards the playoffs, RCB will want their main batters to test their preparations in the remaining league games. Salt, who looked in excellent touch with his bat in initial games of the league, fell sick for a while after the Rajasthan Royals (RR) game on April 24 while skipper Patidar’s finger injury got injured while fielding against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 3.
However, ahead of Challengers’ penultimate league clash, their key batters’ recovery will boost their confidence. “Rajat Patidar’s right hand (finger injury) had time to recover, making him fit to bat again. Additionally, Salt, who had been sick, got a chance to recharge his batteries and is now back at full force,” said RCB head coach ahead of the game against the Orange Army.
Travis Head will be available for SRH against RCB in IPL 2025
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) star opener Travis Head, who couldn’t show up for his side against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on May 20 due to COVID-19, will feature in his side’s playing XI against Bengaluru. Hyderabad bowling coach James Franklin revealed the Australian’s availability for the game.
"As far as I’m aware, he’s declared fit and ready to go for selection," said Franklin in a press conference. Back in 2024, Head broke into the record books for hitting the fastest ton for Sunrisers against RCB at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The southpaw smashed his maiden IPL hundred in just 39 balls.
