Sameer Rizvi turned out to be a star as Delhi Capitals ended their IPL 2025 campaign with a six-wicket win over Punjab Kings at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Chasing a target of 207 runs, Rizvi remained unbeaten on 58*(25) runs as PBKS chased the target with three balls remaining in the match. With this win, DC finished their campaign with seven wins and six losses with their one match getting washed out due to rain.
Coming to bat first after losing the toss, PBKS posted a total of 206 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs. After Prabhsimran Singh (28 off 18) and Josh Inglis (32 off 12) added 47 runs for the second wicket, skipper Shreyas Iyer took charge of the innings and scored 53 runs off 34 balls hitting five fours and two sixes. After Iyer’s knock, Marcus Stoinis gave finishing touches smashing 44* runs off just 16 balls with three four and four sixes. For DC,, Mustafizur Rahman registered figures of 3/33. Apart from that, Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam took two wickets each while Mukesh Kumar put one in his bag.

Chasing the winning target, DC got a good start as skipper Faf du Plessis and KL Rahul added 55 runs for the first wicket in the 5.3 overs. Du Plessis got out after scoring 23(15) runs while Rahul scored 35(21) runs. Sediqullah Atal also contributed with 22(16) runs in his debut IPL match. After that, Karun Nair and Sameer Rizvi took charge of the innings as the duo put up a partnership of 62 runs for the fourth wicket.
Karun Nair got out after scoring 44 runs off 27 balls hitting five fours and two sixes. After that, Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs gave finishing touches as DC chased the target with three balls remaining losing four wickets. Stubbs scored 18*(14) runs while Rizvi remained unbeaten on 58* runs off 25 balls hitting three fours and five sixes.
