In match number 59 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 10 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, to inch closer to their playoffs spot. Coming into this match, PBKS skipper, Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat first.
However, the top order of PBKS could not play an impactful innings as they departed with only 34 runs on the board. Thereafter, Nehal Wadhera stitched a crucial fourth wicket stand with skipper Iyer to help put 100-plus runs on the board. However, Iyer struggled in the middle as he was suffering with a finger injury, Nehal Wadhera then stitched a crucial stand with Shashank Singh to help put 219 on the board.
Nehal Wadhera registers career best scores of 70 in IPL
During his 37-ball stay in the middle during Punjab Kings innings, Nehal Wadhera stitched a 67-run partnership with Iyer. Wadhera went up to smash his fourth IPL half-century and further registered his career best scores in the cash rich league. Previously, Nehal Wadhera’s highest score in IPL was 64, which came in IPL 2023 in match against Chennai Super Kings.
After his inning of 37-ball 70, which saw him hit five maximums as well as five fours, he has amassed 280 runs in the 11 IPL innings this season. Overall, Wadhera has got 630 runs from 31 matches at an average of 27.39, at a staggering strike rate of 147.19.
