Just a few hours ahead of the much-awaited IPL 2025 final against Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru may get a big shock as their star opener is likely to be unavailable for the title clash. As per the reports by ESPN Cricinfo, Salt is likely to miss the final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3 due to the birth of his child. Notably, Salt was missing from RCB’s practice session on a day ahead of the final in Ahmedabad.

Phil Salt has been a key player for RCB in IPL 2025 and played a crucial part for the franchise to reach the final after nine years. He amassed 387 runs from 12 matches this year at a strike rate of 175.90. He also scored a match-winning half-century in the first qualifier as RCB registered an easy win over PBKS to reach the final.

Tim David also doubtful for IPL 2025 final against PBKS

RCB are already dealing with an injury in their squad ahead of the final as Tim David is also doubtful for the title clash against PBKS in Ahmedabad. The Australian sustained a hamstring injury in a league stage match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. After that, Tim went on to miss the final league match against Lucknow Super Giants followed by the first qualifier against PBKS. Now, RCB will be looking to get a balanced side ahead of the final in Ahmedabad.
