The inaugural edition of the Neeraj Chopra Classic, a one-of-a-kind tournament in India and country’s first-ever international javelin throw competition, is all set to be held on July 5. The marquee tournament, which was earlier scheduled to be held on May 24, was postponed due to the escalating cross-border tensions after Pahalgam terror attacks and Operation Sindoor.

However, with everything back to normalcy, the tournament was rescheduled for July 5 and will be held later today at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. The event, which is marked behind India’s two-time Olympic athlete and reigning World No. 1, Neeraj Chopra, will see top athletes take centre-stage, including the likes of Thomas Rohler (former Olympic champions), Yulius Yego (Olympic medallist and former world champions), Curtis Thompson and several others.
