In the latest fixture of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, Chelsea managed to progress through to the semi-finals, defeating the Brazilian powerhouses Palmeiras 2-1 in the quarter-finals at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Chelsea managed to secure their spot in the semis after a display of grit and determination against Palmeiras, taking an early lead. But the Brazilian team managed to level the score in the second half, making the game even due to a goal from the wonderboy Estevao Willian.

An early goal from Chelsea’s No.20 Cole Palmer gave them an early lead against the Brazilian side and they found themselves in a comfortable position due to the composed finish from the English wonderboy. However, their early lead was cancelled out by Estevao, who managed to dispatch a rocket shot which throttled the crossbar to find the back of the net. But to their luck, Chelsea managed to find their second in the match through Malo Gusto, who dispatched a cross in, deflecting a defender to find the goal.

Chelsea set to face Fluminense in the semi-final of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025

Chelsea after defeating one Brazilian team are now set to face another in Fluminense, to battle for their spot in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 final. Fluminense progressed into the semi-finals after securing a victory against Simone Inzaghi’s team Al-Hilal by 2-1 margin in Florida. This match will see the reunion of the 40-year-old Thiago Silva with his former team Chelsea.

The two semi-finalists will be facing each other at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on 9th July at 12:30 am (IST). It will be interesting to see which of these sides emerges victorious and who will get knocked out after coming all this way.
