Darwin Nunez has been a very important player in the team since he joined the Reds in the summer transfer window of 2022. Liverpool signed him on a transfer fee of €75m with potential add-ons. He has scored 25 goals and provided 13 assists in the 95 matches that he has played for the club. The Uruguay international was a key part of the squad managed by Jurgen Klopp. However, several reports suggest that Nunez is not a key part of the plan of Arne Slot for the upcoming campaign, which is why he could be seen making a move away from Anfield.

According to recent reports, Napoli are still in talks with the 26-year-old striker from Uruguay and are eager to establish a deal with Liverpool in order to sign him. According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, “Napoli have put €50 million plus €5 million on the table for Darwin Nunez. Napoli have also offered a wage of €5 million to €6 million per season to Nunez”. However, several reports suggest that Liverpool’s valuation for Darwin Nunez is more than what Napoli have offered and the wage bill of Nunez is almost double of what he has received from the Serie A champions.

Lorenzo Lucca also in advanced talks with Napoli: Reports

Along with Darwin Nunez, Napoli are also in advanced talks with the young Italian Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese. Lucca’s wages are lesser than what Liverpool are demanding for Darwin Nunez, hence he is also on the shortlist of the Serie A champions. However, their priority remains Nunez due to his experience in the Premier League, which could prove very beneficial for the Italian club.

The final decision will be made by Napoli after monitoring the situation of both the deals and according to their strategies. Nunez was also linked with a move to Al Nassr however there are no updates about that deal yet. Napoli will be looking forward to coming to an agreement with Liverpool in a deal beneficial for both the parties.
