The Shubman Gill-led Team India has looked dominant thus far in the opening Test of the five-match series against England. The Men in Blue, who kickstarted their new era under the leadership of Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant as his deputy, had a great outing on the opening day of the first Test, where they added 359 runs at the loss of three wickets at stumps.
After a brilliant start by Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul, which saw them put 91 runs on board for the opening wicket, Shubman Gill also impressed in what is his debut innings as captain of the side. After KL Rahul’s dismissal, Jaiswal and Gill stitched 129-run partnership to put India in a commanding position. As they built on their partnership, Jaiswal was seen reminding Gill of his habit of running between the wickets in a haste.
Mere ko zor se no boldo. Meri aadat hain: Jaiswal reminds Gill of his running habit
In one of videos going viral of the incident, Jaiswal can be seen reminding Gill to shout no loudly to prevent him from running as it was a habit to go ahead soon after hitting the ball. "Haan, haan bolte rehana bas. Meri aadat hain aage jaane ki. Haan bas nahi nahi. Mere ko zor se no boldo. Meri aadat hain lekein. (Please keep telling me. It's my habit to move ahead. Just tell me loudly no but it is my habit.)," Jaiswal can be heard saying in a video shared on Star Sports.
Furthermore, in one of the instances, Gill was seen shouting no loudly, much to the dismay of Jaiswal, who felt that there was an easy run available. "Arre aajao yaar. Bhaiyya year," said Jaiswal.

However, Jaiswal’s stay was cut short by England skipper Ben Stokes, who bowled him out at 101. But during his 159-ball stay in the middle, which included 16 fours and one maximum, Jaiswal went on to etch several records. The opener completed Australia-England double as he became the first overseas batter to score a century in his maiden innings in both countries. Furthermore, he also became fifth Indian batter to score a century in England in his maiden innings.
